The more kids read, the better readers they become! With your generosity, we can send a bright, beautiful new book home for the summer with 1,000 pre-K through 1st grade children served by Blessings in a Backpack Frederick.

Join our organization, Curious Iguana, the Literacy Council of Frederick County, and Frederick County Public Libraries to:

  • Put books in the hands of children who need them.
  • Combat “summer slide” in reading skills.
  • Ensure that more kids are ready to read and succeed when school starts this fall!

4 Ways to Help

  1. Buy books from the the Book List through the Curious Iguana website or store on N. Market St., and they will deliver them to us. Click here.
  2. Visit the Literacy Council’s donation page and designate Book Drive in “Purpose of Donation.” They will purchase and deliver your books. Click here.
  3. Purchase books from the Book List through another retailer and drop them off at Blessings in a Backpack (bins on back porch) or the Literacy Council of Frederick County.
